Իմ ազգանունը Հարությունյան է... My surname is Harutyunyan

Հարությունյան ազգանունը ամենատարածված ազգանուններից մեկն է,  որի հիմքում ընկած էեկեղեցական Հարություն անունը: Վերջինս նշանակումէ «նոր կյանք առած»:Հնում, երբ երեխան ծնվում էր,  շատ հաճախ երեխայի անվանը միացնում էին իր հոր անունը, որպեսզի ցույց  տան թե նա որ ցեղին էպատկանում, քանի որ հնում եկեղեցական անունները   քիչ էին,եւ այդես հեշտ էր տարբերել մարդկանց:Իմ ապուպապի անունը  Հարություն է եղել:  Նրանից է սերել մեր ողջ տոհմածառը:Հարությունյանները հիմա կան գրեթե  ամենբնագավառում՝ առեւտրի, բանկային,  տրանսպորտի, բժշկության... Բայց հայրիկիս եւ պապիկիս պատմելով  իրենց շառավղում շատ են ֆիզիկոսները եւ մաթեմատիկոսները:  Իմ պապիկն էլ՝ ՍերգեյՀարությունյանը,   երկար տարիներ աշխատել է Ֆիզիկայի ինստիտուտում եւ քիչ վաստակ չունի  Հայաստանում ֆիզիկայի բնագավառի զարգացման գործում : Իսկ իմ հոր պապի պապը կուլակ է եղել:  Նա մեծ հարստության տեր է եղել, ունեցել  է բավականին մեծ կալվածքներ, բազմաթիվ ծառաներ, մեծ պտղատու այգիներ,  ձիակառքեր...Իսկ իմ պապի հայրը՝ Սանասար Հարությունյանը,մասնակցել է  Հայրենական Մեծ պատերազմին: Նա կռվել է հատկապես Սեվաստոպոլի  ազատագրման համար եւ պարգեւատրվել է բազմաթիվ շքանշաններով:

The surname Harutyunyan is  one of the most  common surnames. It is based on the church name Harutyun that means "somebody who has got a new life " .

In ancient times when a child was born the baby's name was often connected to his father's name to show that he belonged to the certain tribe 'cause there were few ancient religious names. Besides it was easy to distinguish people in such a way. Harutyun was the name of my ancestor, so our family tree was descended from him. Now Harutyunyans are almost in every field - trade , banking , transport , medicine ... But my father and my grandfather told me that there had been many physicists and mathematicians in their family line. My grandfather Sergey Harutyunyan had alsoworked in the Institute of Physics and had much contribution to the development of the field of physics .My paternal great grandfather had been a tonsure, he had had great wealth - a fairly large estates , many servants , large orchards and horse drawn carriages. My grandfather’s father Sanasar had participated in the Great Patriotic War. He had struggled for the liberation of Sevastopol and was awarded with numerous medals .
